DRTC Mega Day 2018 Coached by Personal Best

PROFESSIONAL TRIATHLETE - Daniel Clarke
Daniel had a very successful 2017 season. He went 8:49 at IRONMAN Louisville and 8th place overall at IRONMAN Lake Placid. In Ontario, Daniel was the overall winner in the MultiSport Triathlon Pro series and has been named to the Triathlon Ontario Long Course Development Team. Daniel will be assisting the coaches all day long on the swim deck, cycling stage, run workout and finishing the day with a motivational talk that will help to take your training to the next level.
Here we go! The first Mega Day of 2018
Location: Boys and Girls Club at 433 Eulalie Ave Oshawa
Price is $45 plus CCN processing fees.
These full on training days are a great opportunity to get in a big training experience, most likely the biggest training day you have had recently. Perfect for the upcoming outdoor season.
Its best to prepare for these days with 2-3 lighter training days just beforehand. Ideally you are rested and ready to challenge yourself and in return your fitness will take a big leap (after a couple recovery days).
This is your day so please be ready to work hard,bring super positive energy to help support one another and above all else enjoy the process. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Some key things to know:
6:30 Arrival and Check In (find your swim group, get your raffle ticket, set up bike)
7:00 - 8:30 Swim (2 groups of 45 min each)
Group A - 07:00 - 07:45
Group B - 07:45 - 08:30
When your group is not swimming you will set up your bike area to be ready to ride.
09:00 - 12:00 Endurance Bike with coaches Daniel and Frank on stage. Great music and videos streaming to motivate everyone. Bikes need to be set up in orderly rows (tape will mark the spot!) so the coaches may ask you to move/adjust your position. Have your run gear close by and ready….
12:20-1:20pm Transition Run with coaches outdoors on local streets (flat!) NEW for 2018: We are doing a 1 hour run to better suit all DRTC athletes (and there will be options so run as long as you like). Towel off and be ready for Yoga...
1:40 - 2:25pm Flexibility & Injury Prevention Yoga with Yoga Instructor Tara.
2: 30- 3:00pm Motivational Talk by Daniel Clarke, Lunch (bring your own & lawn chair) and Door Prizes!.
Potential small adjustments to times and activities
Things to Bring for Mega Day
swim gear/goggles/swim suit/towel(s)/flip flops
bike in good working order/spare tubes/pump
bike shoes, cycling shorts and top, socks X2
bike trainer/stand/heart rate monitor/watch/ another towel
sports nutrition for the day (gels, bars, sports drink, lots of water)
outdoor running gear, be prepared for any type of weather
yoga mat or similar/gear suitable for yoga (stretch pants etc)
Lunch/drinks/anything else you need nutritionally or medically
- Portable chair for the talk or use yoga mat.
You will choose your swim wave as part of registration. If a wave fills up you will no longer be able to select that wave during registrstion.
If both swim waves fill up then you can select the No Swim option to register for the ramainder of the Mega Day events
